Cancellation Phone Number 1-80*-***-****
- - Cancelled CenturyLink after 10 years.
- - DSL gear is old; speeds are inadequate.
- - Support outsourced to India; waits can be long.
Just cancelled my account with CenturyLink after 10 years with them. Their DSL equipment is really old and the speed really inadequate for todays everyday usage.
What a shame that the quality of customer service has gone from 10 down to a 1 after Lumen and ATT bought CenturyLink, IMHO. They outsourced their service to India and you have to be very patience and be polite with the answerer. My operator has a very thick accent but I got it done very quickly because I hold my cool and I was courteous towards her. One caveat is do not call them on a Monday like I just did.
I waited almost half an hour before someone picked up the phone. Good luck.
User's recommendation: Unless they upgrade their equipment, I would not recommend CenturyLink

Verified Reviewer- - Ongoing service and billing issues with CenturyLink.
- - Paid December on the 5th; service shut off 13th.
- - Bank shows funds were taken; no refund issued.
Have had problems since day one of trying to get the service connected and only got worse from there. Currently I am going through issues with billing and their negligent people.
I paid my Dec payment on the 5th of the month and then my internet service was discontinued on the 13th due to no payment. How is this possible? I have proof that everything was paid but after shut off ive tried to get it turned on again. To no avail however because when I contact them they are full of excuses for payment.
I've heard that I disputed the charge, money was refunded, insufficient funds, and so much more. None of which are fact. I paid and they shut it off. I'm 63 years old and on SS benefits so I don't have any extra money to pay for the service several times a month to keep my service going.
My bank account reflects the money was taken from it and never was a refund even attempted on their behalf to my account ever. What kind of BS is that. They are liars and thieves and expect me to roll over and pay again and again for one line of service. Well they are wrong about me.
I'll never stop until my money is returned. I have a new company now and it seems ok so far.dont waste your time or money with CenturyLink.
User's recommendation: Not good company. Liars and thieves

Verified Reviewer |Unfaithful business approach
- - Lost internet on Tue Apr 28; customer service didn't answer.
- - Robot questions; long hold; callback never arrived; chat bot queued me.
Tuesday, April 28th I lost internet access. Then I tried to contact customer service, which didn’t answer.
I called back, and then a robot went through stupid system questions. After that, I was transferred to a live person ... that was a lineup ... they offered to call me back, keeping my lineup list.
After 24 hours, they never called back. As I was free from holding my waiting list, I tried the chat robot, which put me on the line up waitlist #106. After 2 hours of no internet, I was still #46. Great, right?
After 2 hours, something appeared on the Century website to say they have internet in my area. What a loopy system they have. I worked 15 years as a customer service manager. It was so easy to post online where they have disrupted services.
All companies have failed services in certain areas.
So I give a 0 star or stars for their web service updates. Never lie to an angry customer; they will go to another internet provider.

Cannot access my email due to my computer being hacked.
Nothing has happened. Cannot get a live person to help me.
I need support immediately not 2 or 3 days from now. This is absolutely ridiculous!!!
User's recommendation: Do not use this service
Conversation about customer service
I need to speak to a representative. I was on hold for an unreasonable amount of time. Im trying to give this company money I owe; however, I must speak to a knowledgeable person to make that happen.
No internet service
- - The tech came out and solved the problem.
- - The customer is unhappy about not being able to talk to a human and asks for the supervisor's name.
The tech came out and solved the problem.
Why would this be addressed like this? the only thing that *** me off is you cant talk to a human.
Can I have your supervisor name for this comment? Its very unprofessional and uncalled for.

Verified ReviewerNonworking phone and yet still charges fees and phone still doesn’t work properly after over a month
- - CenturyLink outage lasted over a month, endangering emergency calls.
- - Post-restoration, static makes it hard to hear and credit issues persist.
My 84-year-old grandmother who has heart issues and desperately needs a phone in case she needs to call 911 has phone service through CenturyLink and her phone service was out for over a month not to mention that even before, and now even after the phone service was restored, she can barely hear people, and we can barely hear her because there’s too much static on the line and they will not credit her account properly.

Verified Reviewer |Unsatisfied!
- - Landline service out for over a week.
- - Tech said the fault is the cable from the main box to the community.
- - No action has occurred since then.
My land line phone service has been out for over a week. Finally, a week later, a tech came and determined that the problem was with the cable from a main box to our community and said he would call the cable crew.
But, NOTHING SINCE THEN except no phone service! This is unacceptable!!

No customer service
- - Webmail moved from .com to .net; access is blocked.
- - Customer service is bot-only, no humans.
- - Queue ~20 minutes; no phone numbers for web users.
Webmail converted from .com to .net system and was working fine but now no access and their "customer service" link is bot only and will not connect to a human - wait in cue for 20 minutes and it rolls back to the bots. No phone numbers available for webusers.

Verified ReviewerYou just waste your time waiting for repair
- - Landline doesn't work; long holds and inconsistent repair tickets.
- - Texts say tech is on the way or on site; no one comes.
Landline doesn't work. Call Century customer service. Wait 3 hours, still on hold. Go to online chat. Get repair ticket number and text message setting date for technician. Get text the day before saying tech will come with 4-hour notice. Then get text saying 4-hour notice can't be provided, but tech will come between 8 and 5. Tech never comes.
Get another ticket. This time get text messages saying tech is on his way. Then text saying tech is on the property. No tech. My neighbor even got a text saying the tech was in his house!!
Try a third time. Get another ticket number. When I ask why there was no response to the previous two tickets (I provide the numbers), the chatbot says, 'I have no record of a prior ticket.' Having just watched the movie 'My Cousin Vinny,' I respond, 'What would the correct ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet, with a 327 cubic-inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor?' Response from the chatbot: 'I have no record of a prior ticket.'
Oh, did I forget that if you try to look up your ticket number on the CenturyLink website where you have an account, you get a message that says, 'No prior appointments,' or something like that.
After 2 months, all of a sudden, the phone started working again. I have no idea why.
User's recommendation: My only experience is with the landline service, which I need. So if you have this service, be prepared for frustration if you ever need repair!
No phone service for 6 days

- - No communication from Cen.link for 6 days.
No phone service for 6 days. Repair tickets submitted canceled on the day of repair with no explanation of why.
No communication from Cen.link about what our problem is for 6 days.
What in the world are we supposed to do or who are we to call? This is pathetic!
Preferred solution: Is a customer service system that works!
