In January 2014 I renewed my contract to get one year of promotional pricing again which is $20 off each month. Yet, 6 months later I got a bill without the $20 discount even though it should last through January 15, 2015. I contacted customer service and got told it expired. I explained to customer service that the discount is for a full year. I asked the agent on the phone how long the discount lasts and she replied for full 12 months and that I have to renew by 1/15/2015 to get the discount again. The only thing she told me is to contact the loyalty team by phone. Yet, the worst is that Centurylink still wants me to pay up the early termination fee if I want to cancel even though this shame of a company didn't honor its part of the contract. So, I gonna call the centurylink loyalty team tomorrow.

BTW: I renewed twice my contract to get promotional pricing for a full year. Always at the end of the contract, I actually wanted to cancel my service but when I contacted Centurylink, an agent offered me again a $20 monthly discount for a full year. So, I decided to stay. But not this time if Centurylink doesn't resolve my problem tomorrow I WILL LEAVE. And of course, I will not pay the $200 early termination fee as Centurylink broke the contract, not me!

If I don't get the discount back should I simply cancel my service and simply refuse to pay the $200 early termination fee? I know it will hurt my credit a bit but that's the price I'm willing to pay not to deal with Centurylink ever again.

Monetary Loss: $200.
