According to the CenturyLink help articles, you can get the return label on centurylink.com. You will need to enter your CenturyLink account by providing the account number and last name or business name.
Your account number can be:
  • A 9-digit number assigned to you at the time your service was set up.
  • Your 10-digit billing telephone number plus your 3-digit account code.
  • Your 10-digit billing telephone number plus your 3-digit account code plus (not always) and alpha character. Looking at the upper corner of your most recent CenturyLink bill is the best way to find either your Account Number, your Billing Telephone Number, or your Account Code. If you don't have a copy of your bill, you can request a reprint to be sent to you by mail.
If you need any assistance with the return label, please contact the CenturyLink customer care team by phone at (800) 244-1111 (toll-free number) or by email at talktous@centurylink.com.

Federal Universal Service Fund

CenturyLink promotes a "Price For Life" package to their customer base and then attachs a fee to our accounts to cover their contribution to the Federal Universal Service Fund. I presume they write off their contribution at our expense. Is there any action that a consumer can take to eliminate this fee?

1 answer
Garry Leigh
#1753767
As stated on verizon.com, Universal Service Fees are mandated by the Federal Government and assessed under rules developed by the FCC to support universal service for schools, libraries, and rural health care facilities. It is calculated as a percentage of your total monthly long distance charges. Unfortunately, CenturyLink does not provide any information if it is possible to eliminate this fee on the company website.

According to the 'Change the look of your CenturyLink email inbox' article on centurylink.com, you can manage spam filter settings to control your inbox:
  • From your CenturyLink homepage, log in to your email account, and view your inbox.
  • On the left side of the page, scroll down to the "WebApps" section and double click on CenturyLink SPAM Settings.
  • A window will display that has 4 spam setting options (None, Low, Medium, High).
  • Select the one you desire.
  • Click on the [Apply SPAM Settings] button to save your changes.
  • Delete all emails from the Spam folder.
  • If your email address is set up to forward emails to another account, you may need to check the "forwarded to" account for your CenturyLink messages. Also, when you set up the forwarding rules on your main email account, you were probably asked if you wanted to delete the emails from the primary account once they are forwarded.
  • You may want to change this setting so you know where to expect future emails. You may also clear your browser cache, cookies and temporary Internet files.
  • Sign out and back into your email account.
