I found out the router's advanced settings by just tinkering around, I made a FREE NO-COST Static-IP-Address unlike paying $20 then $5.99 for a static IP that I need to pay $20 each time I want a new Static IP, they suck, they didn't give me a MODERN 2013 CenturyLink branded router, just another *** simple, 2009 naive-slow-speed-router. My old router had the same GUI and was better because, on the modem status page it showed my IP, then I went to Advanced setup, WAN IP and selected Static IP under the "Dynamic IP (Default)" drop-down menu and put in my IP, is instantly made it possible to generate a Static IP at NO additional cost, and if the power went out for 1-5 hours or just 1-5 minutes the SAME IP address that I setup in the advanced settings would stay there, I like this because I host a MineCraft Server and changing IP addresses is "PITA" and your players get annoyed!

So I got Dyn Account and a no-ip so they get the same ip but I change to where it goes, and changing it every time when i'm not there is downtime for them. The IP wouldn't change unless, the router stops responding, wont startup, or hangs up even after power cycle. Then I would have to reset the settings using the reset button behind the router and pressing it with a needle to avoid calling customer-service and having them replace my router, unfortunately, these routers are designed to ALWAYS BE ON and therefore not ideal for power-cycles like unplugging the adapter when you don't use it, doing this damages to router and freezes it up after you plug it back in. The new router they gave me has none of these features, I can still get a FREE static IP but It needs to always be on, so when the line drops I get a new static IP I DO NOT WANT!

Also their UPLOAD speed in bullcrap(sh**), it takes FOREVER to upload a picture, video either to Google+, FaceBook, email attachment or a YouTube video. Comcast/Xfinity was better, the only downside is that customer support is very naive/primitive, when I unplug the Modem it takes forever to load, I had the same IP address for 1 year (when I cancelled it), but friends say that new routers load in less than 30 seconds, and have DDoS protection unlike CenturyLink's outdated, low-capacity routers, the price, I cancelled because the prices rose upto $90 USD just for Internet, 15 meg boost (only for download), and leasing a router, also I cannot get Comcast anymore because they say that I still owe overdue equipment and that I need to pay a 200-500 dollar fine to reconnect to them and that my speed would be 5/1 megabits for 6 months ._.

Also later I find 6 months later after having CenturyLink, my prices rise from $35.99 to 55.99 USD, I then compare what I'm paying for (what each megabit costs) and I find that you are WASTING more money on CenturyLink and with Comcast because it's actually more expensive in the way that you compare it, CenturyLink costs $12 dollars per megabit, I have 5 megabits download, and upload is TERRIBLE, 0.876 megabit, with Comcast it's about $2.50 dollars per megabit, I had 35 megabits download and 7 megabits upload, way faster but still worth the price. Also their $19.55 price is A SCAM! When I called them, they said they had no Idea what unlimited nationwide calling plan was, and that they never heard about the $19.55 bundle plan was, also the installation was $80 dollars and took 15 minutes to setup, no broken wires, why so expensive?

Even with $19.99 per month for 5 megabits, it's still more expensive and SLOW than Comcast, you would be paying 4.00 dollars per megabit while with Comcast it's $2.50, this is the price if your speed is 1.5 - 12 megabits, I believe only Iowa, Minnesota, West Virginia, Maryland, are the only states with 12+ megabits download speed, but the upload still may be slow, if you had 5 megabits with Comcast, it would be 13.00 dollars per month! and way more faster!

I do NOT recommend CenturyLink to anyone! DO THE MATH!

Monetary Loss: $1500.

Hello How did you do that? could you tell me how you got a free static ip?

As I want a free static ip too.

I too on 1/6/14 was just quoted 19.99/mo for a static IP. The price just says they don't want the hassle. Get a VPS for 10.00 mo and be done with it.
