I have Century Link as a phone/Internet provider for my small business.

My store recently had to change locations. Because of the layout of the store, and the space demands of the displays and front desk, we had to block off a phone jack with a giant, heavy display case (took 6 hours to disassemble then reassemble).

Long story short, we called them 8/12 to arrange an appointment to have a phone jack installed. Because it's a busy time for them, they were not able to set an appointment until 8/22. Which, while it was longer than I'd hoped to wait (10 days is a really long time for a store to go without a credit card machine, which runs through the phone line) was fine.

Despite us calling 3 times throughout the day (12:30, 3, 5) they never showed up. They did, however, send us an email informing us that our "service has been completed".

Obviously, this was not the case. We called them on 8/23 (Friday) to ask why they did not show up to install the phone jack, and why on earth did we get an email informing us that the task was completed when it clearly wasn't.

They apologized and said they would send someone immediately (same day) to take care of the problem.

No one showed up.

So we called again on 8/26 (Monday). We explained the situation again, and insisted they send a technician to install the phone line ASAP. The soonest a available appointment was on 8/28 (Wednesday).

Well. 5 phone calls later, (it's 7:30 pm) they still haven't shown up. After spending 3.5 hours on the phone with them today, while trying to run a retail store, we have set up an appointment for September 3rd.

And the woman who I talked to today was incredibly rude. I do not use Century Link for my personal phone/Internet needs and can now safely say that I *never* will.

Now, I'm trying to convince my boss to do the same for our store. Hopefully by the time they no-show next Tuesday, he'll see my point.

I would not recommend Century Link/Qwest to anyone, under any circumstances, ever.
