I signed up for the 'price for life' plan a few months ago, it was supposed to be $40 for life.Since then, my bill has continued to rise. Today, the bill is $50. I was told this $40 would be the only price I would be billed. For life. In the past few months, my bill...

I was scammed too. I was told it would be $35.00 for life last Winter.

This month, they raised my bill to $45.00 (less than a year later November 2018). I called customer service because my download speed was just 3.5 Mbps and upload was .5 Mbps. The rep I spoke with told me they could resolve that by raising my speed internally to 20Mbps. I asked if that would cost any extra and they said NO.

When my speed remained at 3.5Mbps, I called in again and that rep told me that my area doesn't offer 20Mbps, so they moved it back to the 10Mbps and my actual speed remained at 3.6 Mbps. In the end, I had to have a service tech come out. He found a damaged cable about a 1/2 mile from my home...so he went down the street a block or two and replaced the cable. I still don't have 10 Mbps...but it is now up to 7.5...still slow compared to what we had with Comcast Xfinity in Indiana that was over 120Mbps.

Lastly, when I signed up with Century Link, the tech didn't show up for two scheduled install visits.

After his install, my internet was not up and running for about a month and a half due to problems with neighborhood cables. Yet, I still had to pay for the month and a half that I had no service.

Never form a plural with an apostrophe.

You can't make a possessive out of the word "month" either because it is an inanimate, imaginary entity which has no legal rights.

Apostrophe only for possessive of a proper name or title.

Apostrophe only for contractions : can't , won't, didn't, shouldn't, o'clock, etc.

If you can get service from someone else...DO IT even at greater cost! | Centurylink

CenturyLink is my only choice. They are deceitful, they do not honor their agreements, they have very poor service while charging a premium fee. My daughter lives in Raleigh NC and gets better internet for less than half what I have to give CenturyLink in rural VA. I had the 4-5 Meg internet only and they suddenly said I had to get the 8 Meg option and gave me a bunch of incentives which they have now broken. I have to pay, now, $47 a month for internet only. I call them almost every month...this month my bill went up $5 for no reason given. The customer service (misnomer) person got testy with me and I was in no way short with her. Actually it was a dishonored agreement supposed to be valid until 2/18 but she would not admit that. The service has been bad for months. They finally sent a tech out..he found the line from the trunk cable bad. No one ever came to run a new line. When I call (several times) they send the same tech out who finds the same problem and requests each time that a new line be run. On 3 occasions they were supposed to do it and have yet to show up! All this for a premium cost. Don't do CenturyLink. Pay more if you have to. It will save you trouble in the long run and give you better service (couldn't be worse).

Swirling Vortex of Run-Arounds and Horrible Interdepartmental Communication. | Centurylink in Ammon, Idaho

I set up internet service at the end of May, and a week later realized that we would be getting a better Internet company out to our apartment, so a week after canceling, they told me that I would not need to pay anything to cancel services, and that everything was resolved. I got the return label for the Modem, and sent it back. Done. A month later, I get a bill in the mail saying that I owe $89. I called Century Link customer service, and spoke with several associates and supervisors who after a HUGE run around told me that everything was taken care of. A couple of months later (Now in September 7th), I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe $44.89 and that if I didn't pay by the 15th that I was going to get sent into collections. I once again, brave the horrible nightmare that is Century Link Customer Service and finally get a hold of Chip in the retention Department, and he told me that he can credit the $44.89 to my account, and get everything taken care of. He was actually one of the more professional people that I had spoken with. He told me that the final amount had been resolved, and that He would transfer me to Financial to add an extension to the owing balance so that I wouldn't get sent to collections. Dallas too was professional and charming throughout the exchange. Fast forward one month to now October. I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe - you guessed it - $44.89 and that if it wasn't paid by October 12th that I would get sent to collections. As I write this review I am waiting on hold with them to try and resolve the issue and have already been transferred (no kidding) 13 times. CENTURY LINK, PLEASE SEEK BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
