Brian Schlagel?6 months of speeds of .3 to .6 mbps so I finally had enough. Tech came out and told me they were aware of problem and hope to have it fixed soon, very nice and seemed to care. So I called Customer Service and said the level of service I am getting is not worth what I am paying and I am not receiving what I am paying for. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me if I was not happy with the service to take it up with Wisconsin Public Service Commission. I guess that is what I am going to have to do. Today we have been out since 2 PM- called again- troubleshot router and said router was out. Sent me to Berlin to pck up router- got it home- no luck. I told the guy on phone I had a tech out and he said it was not my router 2 days ago. This company needs some management in place that understands telecommunications. I spoke with neighbors and we are all going to complain to Public Service Commission.Like · · about an hour ago

Shawntel HouseI would like to let you know about the service I have recieved from CenturyLink over the last couple months. I WAS enrolled in Autopay on my account and in October I realized that I would get my bill emailed to me 2 days or so after the bill close date but the payment would already be withdrawn from my account the day I got my statement or the day before it was emailed. In a few cases, I saw my bank statement before I even got a bill from you. I called and inquired about why this happened and how CenturyLink thinks that is right? Obviously I have no issue with paying the bill on time otherwise I wouldn't have signed up for AutoPay. My issue was the delay in getting me my statement. There appears to be no issue quickly charging my card on file for the amount due. Why couldn't you send my bill as quickly?
I then requested my account to be removed from AutoPay for pure principal. Over the last two months it has came out of my account via Aut...See MoreLike · · 2 hours ago near Spring Valley, NVTamera Vallance likes this.

Michelle PridgenYou service is ridiculous. My internet has yet to be fixed by you people. I call and get same recording each time saying there's an issue in my area the techs are working on. I select notify me and nothing. The service is constantly dropping off. You need to hire people that know what they're doing and fix the problems instead of 'patching'. I can't recall when I last had a full month of uninterrupted service yet you sure sent a bill that got paid every month. Maybe I need to interrupt that because I'm tired of paying for something I don't get.Like · · 6 hours ago2 people like this.

Mary BriotI guess the Internet gnomes are playing tricks again. It is a rare day to have Internet service in this Jefferson City Missouri home in the mornings. What really aggravates me, is we gave Centurylink easement across our property with the assurance our Internet would be so much faster. It took a very long time to get that done and guess what! A much slower speed and most mornings no Internet! I was told I could "upgrade" to a faster speed. How about just give me what I was promised and make it work!Like · · 9 hours ago via mobile

Make sure you report this to the FCC, BBB, and the Attorney General of your State or nothing is ever going to happen. Also, make sure you document (email or tape recordings) everything between you and CL.

When are you going to provide your customers the service they are paying for and if you do not provide the service they are paying for when are you going to provide a credit or refund. The Wisconsin Public Service Commission would also like to know and asked if I was provided any thing and I said no.

HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE

I have another service provider but am starting a new at-home business and needed to set up a land line with century link. As a result of the specific telephone requirement's my new at-home business must meet, I had to ask questions. I could tell, in the tone of his voice, he was annoyed with all the specific questions. He was rushing me and giving me scripted answers. Horrible customer service!!! So, I told him, "Stop rushing me! I have to ask all these questions because I have to meet specific requirements." I hung up and called back. Same scenario! The entire company's customer service SUCKS. If there were another service provider options, I'd defiantly sign up with anyone but Century link, even if it were more expensive. I'd rather pay for better customer service. A TRILLION thumbs down!

CenturyLink Theft

I had the exact same issue as the man who posted this information below. I have simply adjusted certain sections to match my situation. I will never use CenturyLink services again. They are simply and blatantly committing theft and their level of incompetence is staggering. They can't even find their own tracking numbers. Just got off the phone with CenturyLink after receiving a collection notion for a modem they say they didn't receive. The modem was returned them on 12/12/12 with their pre-printed shipping label. I got a bill from them on June 5, 2013 saying I still owed them $99.99 for the modem and that I had been turned over to a collection agency. (no, I didn't get the tracking number from the package-lesson learned.) Looks like I will be paying for a $100 modem but I will make sure everyone on the internet knows about CenturyLink and their customer service.

Have not even started service yet...

I signed up for CenturyLink after I moved into my new house. After my modem shows up a day late, I cannot get it to work, call the 800 number on the letter that was sent with the modem. This is the number, by-the-way, that I pay $9.99 a month to have the privilege to call. But that is an 800 number for the east coast. After 5 minutes the representative was able to track down the west coast number, I called them, and walked me through all of the troubleshooting steps, which included rearranging all of my furniture looking for more phone jacks, going into the attic to follow phone lines, and tracking every wire on the outside of my house. It winds up taking 2 hours before one of the representatives says "well I see where a technician was scheduled to come out, I just don't see where he actually showed up. I am thinking that maybe nobody came out". I got transferred to their "Federal Dispatch" department (where I was disconnected for a 3rd time) where finally they were able to get a new appointment set up for a technician to come out. Giving them a call back number when they ask for one at the beginning of every call does no good because if you get disconnected, when they are having you dig through the attic, or if the call mysteriously ends while on hold for over 10 minutes, or if a "call transfer" ends in a dial tone, they never call back. After that fiasco I decided to go to century link's customer relations web site http://www.centurylink.com/pages/AboutUs/CompanyImformation/CustomerRelations/ to let someone in the human resources department know how their customers are being treated. I called the phone number on this page, and it takes my to the same phone line I was calling earlier. With the same people I am commenting on, not actual customer relations personnel or the HR department. If the phone number is no good I thought the "send us an e-mail" link would be a good next step. NO!! The link on the customer relations site goes to, kid-you-not; https://shop.centurylink.com where they want me to add to my current services.

Try to Contact Phone Repair Service

Our phone service is dead. No way to speak to a human at repair service. Going online thru support doesn't work because their links take you to purchasing long distance service instead of making a new repair service request and/or managing an existing request. Their computer promised repair within 24 hours - no show and no call. This is absolutely the worst company that I have ever dealt with and I tell everyone I know about the problems. Will never, ever use them again for any type of product/service. Only way to talk to someone is to go thru new customer or new product request and then ask for repair.

Refund

I sold the house. Not moving to CenturyLink area. Wanted phone service to cease on specific date. OK. I asked if they would bill me just to that date. Response was "No, you must pay bill for full cycle and then we will credit you." WTF? So I had to wait until I received next monthly statement, pay it in full, then wait an entire billing cycle to receive the next statement which stated only that I had a $15 credit. No check enclosed, no indication of how I was to receive this credit. Still waiting... and I assume I will wait until they are ready to send out next statement. So they will have had my money for at least two complete billing cycles. Funny how all my other utilities billed me only to cutoff date. Not the greedy folks at CenturyLink, though.

Centurylink- Corporate gone corrupt!!

We have paid our bill online for years, going back to the days of Qwest. This month, I can not even access my account to pay online. I have not changed my PC. What has Centurylink done? Ever since it became Centrylink, it's been hit and miss when paying online .Centurylink has the most deplorable site - they are ***-bent on shoving more promotions down your throat then providing customer service. Additionally. we were told that we had outstanding long distance charges dating back to 2007 nad that this is has been a turned over to a debt collector. Yet when provided with the phone number of said debt collector, by Centurylink, the collection company has no record. When asked why we have received no written or verbal communication about this debt during the last 7 years, the Centurylink supervisor turns into Helen Keller!! I encourage people to either drop, switch or intiate litigation against the company. It is cetainly something I would entertain.

HORRIBLE Customer Service

I set up service...after 2 days and FIVE phone calls later (every single person was rude...except for the 2 that didnt even speak english) called to cancel. Talked to TWO more people to cancel. Was told I would recieve shipping label in the mail, and would be able to ship the modem back. INSTEAD, I got a bill. I called back FURIOUS, this service rep told me "just because you talked to someone doesnt mean you cancelled. You can talk to people all day it doesnt mean anything" So I asked to talk to his manager, his response "no" I said excuse me he mocked me again and said "mm. no" Spent the whole conversation literally mocking me and being condescending and rude. I dont care if CenturyLink is the last internet company in the world, never would I ever consider being associated with them again.

CENTURYLINK - TERRIBLE INTERNET SERVICE

I've had internet service since 2005 with century link and also have had issues with it ever since then, not getting the speed I pay for, slow as dial up. I have to call them every two or three months about this problem, after I call and they fix it, it works very good for a few days or so, then it's right back to dial up speed. A service tech called me and worked with me on the issue a couple times. It was determined that a switch at the substation keeps going bad, when he replaced the switch, that fixed it temporarily for a few days, then back to dial up speed again. I still have the same problem. When I call and they make me go through the same procedure every time and try to tell me that there is a problem with my computer or phone line inside the house. WRONG!! First, My computer works fine at work but not at home on the internet. Second, I replaced all the lines in my home twice and that is not the problem. They will not listen to me when I tell them that ta service tech said there is a switch that keeps going out at the substation. If it were not for my children needing internet for school I would not have it or the phone either. Century Link has several outages for internet service in my area on a regular basis. They know about these outages that take hours to days to fix. They are knowingly charging for services that they are also aware the customer isn't getting. I understand that at times the internet will go down (thunder storms, tornadoes, etc.). In my area the internet is constantly going down every couple of weeks. On top of this, those that have the 10 MB service are often getting the lower internet speed just as I am, but still being charged for the higher speed. This isn't right. Something needs to be done about this. It is a frequent thing to have to call into the customer service department, we don't have options for other carriers so we are stuck with century link. I may check on satellite internet then I can dump century link and save some money.

Century Link POOOOOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

We purchased Century Link when we moved to Denver. We were told to wait until the modem came in and then internet would be turned on. Waited a week to get the modem (losing business and income daily THANK YOU CENTURY LINK). Got the modem, told the internet would be on after 5.......not on the night they told us. Called tech support. They said we would have a tech out to look at it between 9-2 the next day. Husband took day off work to stay home. NO TECH. Got email. Said no tech would come to our place for another WEEK. CENTURY LINK SUCKS and they haven't even put our service in. HOWEVER, we will be recieving a bill on the 27th to bill us for the previous month. CENTURY LINK keeps changing name, Quest, Embark, Century Link......maybe because they have a HORRIBLE REPUTATION. DO NOT BUY CENTURY LINK INTERNET SERVICE!!!!!

Undependable phone service

We've had centurylink for several years as phone service. Recently we switched to them for internet service. We canceled in about a week because the service was too slow, making it clear that we were ONLY canceling internet service. A few days later, our phone service was canceled! We called and got that straightened out (we thought) but the next bill came in Spanish only. No one here speaks Spainsh so my wife had to call to clear that up. Today, we have no dial tone on any phone. I called support but centurylink offers no support on Sundays! This has all happened in the last two months. We're fed up and looking for another phone service supplier.

This company is not ethical

We have had a phone line for over thirty years. Fifteen to twenty years ago we added a fax line. They never have charged us so being dumb we called them and told them this. Then they started charging us $195.00 a month for two lines. So we switched the home line to Verizon for only $20 a month but kept the fax line. They charged us $600 ($300 per line) as a early termination fee. Stating that we had only had our phone lines for a year but the agreement was a three year term. What? We have had these lines for way longer than three years. What did this company sign us up for. Now they disconnected our fax line and want all sorts of money to get paid up and a re-connect fee. Please watch this company carefully if you decide to use their services. They are ALL SALES and will rip you off.

18 year customer treated like a deadbeat

I had been a Century Link customer for 18 years, through all of their iterations here in Washington state; US West, Qwest, and finally Century Link. I went to Alaska to move my son out of the dorm, and when I got back, I did not get to my bill; this, of course, happened to Dish Network bill and Wavebroadband as well- When I got home, I saw them, noted that they were late, and then figured I'd just "double up" by the next due date- Everyone was fine with that- Except Century Link. They cut off my service; I called and they put it back, but I lost my legacy calling card service. To top it all off, they sent a letter saying that my next payment was somehow a "payment arrangement" and threatened me again with service cut off. So I ditched them, after 18 years, and went with Wave Broadband internet phone, kept my phone number, and have been happy ever since. Way to go, Century Link- great business model. And I lost no money- only they did; my Wave Phone service is the same as it is with my cable internet- they actually "threw it in".

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LIES!

We got duped into the door to door Prism Tv sales man. We had Directv no problems just a pricey bill and fell for the ''too good to be true" scam! We have had century link internet, pricey... for a year and went with the tv service. Day one wrong package and price even though in WRITING from their sales rep. Day 1 4 hr battle to get it right... bill was supposed to be $161 for July.. TRY $450! After recordings of favorite shows with no audio, freezing pictures and falling asleep with the tv and wakin up to the blank screen with an annoying buzz because with no programming we are done. Called to cancel tv and went back to DTV told them not to cancel until tomorrow and yet got home today and tc and INTERNET both shut off. We were keeping internet and didn't authorize a cancellation or change but we were told tonight miraculously our router doesn't work....HOW CONVINENT! DROP CENTURY LINK. They are idiots and lie and their service sucks. The grass is never greener and you get what you pay for.

Theft by Century Link

Had a one year promotion for DSL service. Accepted the promotion based on a Century Link employee telling me that a higher speed of service would be available buy Feb. 2013. They have told me for five years that a higher speed of service would be coming soon. It never happened. Cancelled their DSL service and went with cable. They now tell me I'm responsible for up to a $200.00 cancellation fee. They state they will cancel my phone service and send the bill to collections if I do not pay. I received a confirmation number and the first name of the Century Link employee that I delt with for the promotion. C.L. is unable to retrieve that phone conversation.
