They suck!! We had such a bad experience with Century Link. Asked to cancel six months prior and they waited three months to do so, then kept charging us. Repeatedly went down for a week at a time and they wouldn't send anybody out when the lines were ripped down by somebody moving in a trailer. Left cables lying in the street. They do have a class action law suit against them for cheating people, lots of people!

The worst internet ever it is very slow (dial up speed) and it just shuts off for no reason randomly. Horrible when o call to get faster speed on phone they promise it is offered then guy shows up in truck and says it's not. Whatever can't wait to move before this *** of a company shots itself in the foot.

Colorado Century Link - no service, but lots of bills | Centurylink review

1.0
Details
When I first moved to Northglenn, Colorado, I made the mistake of trying to go with Century Link since I had had good experiences with them in North Carolina. The contrast with Colorado Century Link could hardly have been greater. The service was NOT reliable. But needless to say, the bills arrived on time. After trying to resolve these issues, I told Century Link I was going to go with Comcast (also known as Xfinity). Not only did Century Link fail to disconnect me (even after I had sent them notices of my intent to disconnect via email and snail mail), to this day (almost 12 months later), they still maintain that I owe them almost $350.00! The last time I spoke with them, I warned them that I would be reporting them. The female (I will NOT use the words "lady" or "woman") with whom I spoke was rude (interrupting me several times during the conversation); discourteous (telling me that when I was "crooked enough to fail to pay your [my] debts to us [them], you [I] have no right to expect service from us [them]", and dishonest since I complained about their failure to provide service AFTER I had paid my account in full! So far, this company has failed to do anything to comply with my request to at least halve this bill. So here is my report on Colorado Century Link: Do yourself a huge favor and avoid them like the plague. They do not service you when there are problems and expect you to pay for their "services" even when they do not exist. Go to Comcast or Xfinity for infinitely better customer service and charges which are justified. Do not waste money on Colorado Century Link. They are lazy, rude, and dishonest crooks who won't earn your time or money. Since I now reside in Albuquerque, I will check to see if the New Mexico branch of Century Link will do something positive to resolve this situation. But I am not hopeful. So I will probably continue to go with Xfinity.

I hope you saved the tracking number from returning your equipment because they will hit you 2 years later with no warning on your credit saying you didn't return the equipment!

Poor customer service from Demario. | Centurylink review from Sandy Hook, Virginia

I have handled all bills and payments for my father for several years. He is elderly and legally blind and also very hard of hearing. His Century Link bill has increased by 2 to 4 dollars every month for the last six months, and this month it increased 6 more dollars for a total of $14 dollars. He was under contract until October, 2016. When I called to discuss this, Demario (not sure of spelling as he was uncooperative in getting that) told me that he could not discuss my father's bill with me. I signed my father up with Century Link internet and have handled all problems and bills since then with no problem. He told me that my father would have to write a note giving them permission. I told him that I live two hours from my father and would not be there until next week. Demario just didn't want to deal with work apparently, so I told him I was calling Comcast to compare pricing as we already have tv with them, and now with these last price increases, I may be able to do better with Comcast. Dad has his phone and internet with Century Link and television with Comcast. Demario did not care. I called Comcast and indeed their prices are now better, so we are cancelling Century Link and simplifying things with one company and one bill. I just knew when we went with auto-pay with Century Link it could be a mistake and in fact it was as the bills have continuely gone up.

It took 4 calls to customer service to get internet working again. First they said there was no outage and then a few minutes later said there was an outage in my area. Called back again and the same thing. 4 th person finally got our internet working again. Then I started a chat to adjust my services. I pay $112 for landline and Internet. I rarely use the landline which has multiple extra features, caller ID, call waiting. I just want the basic landline and Internet and they tell me that I have the best value. I just don't believe that I couldn't get a better price with just the basic phone and Internet. Why should I have to pay for services/features I don't even use? I don't even need a landline but because I live in a very rural area where this *** company is the only phone provider I have to use them. The only plus is that their internet usage is unlimited unlike the only satellite internet offered in my area.

Centurylink Prism Tv Service Review from Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Century Link billed me over five months for Prism TV. It started out over $100.00 and every month increased until the last bill was close to $500.00. Problem? I never had PrismTV installed. I called over, and over, and over into the lower tier of customer service reps. Got no where. No one could figure out the billing errors. Finally, five months down the road I found out about Century Links Escalation Dept. I called them - and 2 phone calls later and 4.5 hours of my time they figured it out. They refered me to Century Link's Financial Department. The woman there wanted approximately $250.00 In 21 days - end of discussion. Zero comprimise even though I explained to her that I was on a fixed income - disability retirement. Instead they tried to shame me for receiving internet services from them for 5 months and refusing to pay them. They refused to talk about the fact that I called over and over asking why I was not being billed the $43.00 a month I contracted for. I withheld payment hoping it would Normally I could of handled a bottom line like that but I had a companion animal dying of cancer and another I was fighting to get his diabetes stabilized to keep him from dying. Dogs get old to. The bottom line is in July I spent $650.00 on vet bills. Part of this was to euthanize one of my "boys" because I could not take watching him suffer any longer. These are not family pets they are dogs that perform a service in my life. I asked the Century Link's Financial Department to break the sum into smaller payments over a longer span of time due to my financial hardship. Their answer - NO. I thought about telling them to go to he-l but decided they were not worth ruining my credit over. I thought about disconnecting the internet but the wifi powers my son's iphone. You see has a brain injury and that phone compensates in so many ways for what his own brain cannot do because it was injured in an accident. They call it TBI. Oh yeah! Cannot forget that if I chose to cancel early - my termination fee was about $250.00. Anyways, I paid what I could out of my own budget and borrowed the rest from someone in my life who knows I am good for it. I called the FCC. They told me to go on line to their website and file a complaint against Century Link as soon as possible. May not come to anything but some how I have got to do my part to stop these big communications companies from being able to operate without impunity! Absolutely agregious customer service and cold, heartless Financial Services people! I wish I could find a good lawyer who wanted to help the little guy by filing a class action lawsuit against Century Link. I found two websites solely containing consumer complaints against Century Link. One had over 1,500 reviews and the other over 2,500 reviews. They all tell the same egregious stories with slight variations. I do not know how this company can stay in business.

Terrible provider. Especially regarding billing. | Centurylink review from Eugene, Oregon

To start, I'll start off with a pros and cons list. PROS: * Fairly stable connection * Availability CONS: * Constant billing issues * Customer service says one thing, does another * No informing if you're getting a much lower bandwidth than quoted(due to availability of certain bandwidth speeds based on location) I have called century link countless times for issues regarding billing. First I was told since I was a returning customer, I would have the installation fee waived. Guess what? I had the installation fee instated on my bill. Secondly, I called because my bill went up from the normal 29.95 up to around 43 bucks. I called and they said they would fix it. Lo and behold, I'm auto-billed for 43 bucks. I'm yet to call on this.... Not to mention, constant billing issues a couple years back when I had century link. I see now that they haven't changed. This is ridiculous. century link should NOT be in business, another more honest company. I'm pretty sure that they actually purposely bill people the full amount rather than the contract deal. It's just happened too consistently for it to be just negligence. That's my rant. I'm switching and never going back to century link as soon as I possibly can. PS - Note that I never capitalize century link's name, I don't think they deserve it!
