As a retired engineer for the BellSouth Company I know that a line loss test that indicates the cable loop will not support 40m/bs is all that is needed to adjust a bill. Not in Century Links eyes, they say they sell it it must work. I switched to Comcast and will never go back as long as this company has any hand in the providing of DSL service to me. The way I see it, you have two choices. 1) Make your product free, and then these problems are excusable: after all, you are getting it for free, so you don't get to whine about the quality. 2) Charge hard earned money for your product and make it worth the purchase. WORSE INTERNET COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!! THEY HAVE NO COMMUNICATION AND THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE. I took over paying bills from wife, and missed our cable bill since it was not on the fridge. Well I paid the *** thing and on the confirmation page I printed out said it takes up to 5 days. Well the money left my account. I have a confirmation. NO CABLE! One of our business lines went down and they finally got it back up and then started a new contract on it. Called to set up service....5 day wait. Fine... What time?....no specific time. Install date comes...12 noon... No tech... 3pm...no tech. Called and was told "before 5"....5pm no tech. Called again... Told "after 5"....5:45pm no tech. Called again....Told " your connection should work around 6:30pm... So... My first communication with CenturyLink (after switching from Comcast) was a "disconnect notice." I called and eventually spoke with a CSR who could not explain why an invoice dated 12/27 (and mailed on 12/22 was due and payable on 12/2) nor could he explain a double charge for 'installation.' After talking via telephone with a CSR to could not explain why an invoice dated 12/17/12 and mailed on 12/22/12 was due and payable on 12/2 nor could he explain why there was no detail on the first invoice (just a number). This is the worst internet I have ever had in my life. Every time the phone rings, my internet service is disconnected. Second, I lose service all of the time. Third, for high speed...it is a turtle.
